Our heartfelt sympathies on the passing of a wonderful lady

The Somali Cat Club is saddened to hear of the passing of Irene Jessop who died on August 21st . We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Alan, Ralph and family. Irene served on the Somali Cat Club Committee for a number of years some in the capacity of Secretary. Irene bred under the prefix Cherita and her passion for the breed ensured over the years she bred some wonderful cats. Whilst she loved all her cats it was Kali ( Mycene Excalibur) who stole her heart and his wonderful looks and temperament were passed on to his many offspring. When Irene gave up breeding she continued to work for the club and for years she and Alan were stalwarts working in the kitchen at the Somali show. Irene was a true lady, a credit to the club and to the world of cat breeding.
